Dog collars

The collars I make are made with a four-strand, round leather braid. They average about 3/8" finished diameter. The brass-plated rings at each end of the collars have a 3/4" inside diameter, allowing for free movement of the collar leather through the rings.

Two types of leather are used in making these collars and each type is carefully selected at the tannery to be of premium grade and free of flaws.

A dark brown, oiled utility leather is used in most of the collars. It has the great strength and the good looks to withstand everyday usage and harsh weather conditions. This is the "Standard Collar."

A leather with less oil used in the tanning process and is of a lighter tan color is used in collars designed to give quicker, sharper commands. These have a crisper feel and remain lighter in color, even when they absorb oil from a dog's coat or are oiled in maintenance. This is the "Training Collar," and some handlers feel it affords an advantage over the softer "Standard Collar." The choice is yours.
